Handwriting Corner

In the early childhood classrooms at Woodland, the children experience a unique handwriting curriculum through Handwriting Without Tears. This curriculum focuses on a multisensory approach to school readiness. As the school year goes on, you will hear your child use certain phrases, such as “Mat Man”, “helper hand”, “Where do you start your letters?”, etc. when writing, coloring, or drawing. You will also witness progress made throughout the year in your child’s work because of the wide range of activities implemented in the classroom. Please check out the web site at www.hwtears.com for resources and information about this program. More info about handwriting to come each week…stay tuned!
