Go PK Pouncers!

What Do You Think About?
This morning we were busy practicing making our letters and Mat Man. We read a story called Mat Man On the Go and what he thinks about. Mrs. Smythe thinks about things too! Check out our Morning Message. Talk to your child at home about his/her imagination. Getting him/her to express thoughts is an important part of a young child's development. We will be writing down their stories throughout the year, as part of their dication piece of their writing journals. Today, your children told us what they want to learn this year in PK. We have some work to do with all they want to learn!

All About Me!
We began our All About Me unit this week...Here are some pictures from the week, learning about the iPad, building Mat Man, and "Friend Fishing". We look forward to this coming Tuesday for Open House and the Back to School Celebration for you to see your child's work and visit with your family.

iPads in the Classroom!
Today, we introduced the iPad in the classroom. One of our favorite apps is called, Dexteria. It is great for developing fine motor skills. The children played, "Pinch It!" today where they had to pinch a crab to make it disappear. They loved it! Check it out at home!
Hooray for the World!
What a fun week we have had! The children have laughed and played. It is such a delight to witness a new group of students at such ease. Welcome to Woodland...Here's to a great year in PK!

First Day Fun!
What fun we had today! We learned to put away our belongings, how to play and clean up, how to sit in a cicle, how to walk in the hallway, and so much more. We even learned two new songs today, "Little Hands Get Ready" and "Hooray for the World". Maybe you will hear them at home soon! Thanks for sharing your child with us at Woodland. We look forward to a fun year full of laughter and lots of learning!
